HE Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has received in his office HE Günter Rauer, the new German Consul to Dubai.
During the visit, the two parties discussed ways and means of enhancing cooperation & exchanging expertise between RTA and its counterparts in the Republic of Germany. They also discussed the cooperation with the German entities & firms operating in roads and transport sectors.
Al Tayer started the meeting with welcoming the German Consul wishing him pleasant stay in the UAE and every success in his efforts to boost the bilateral relations between the two countries. He briefed the German diplomat on the projects the RTA intends to undertake in the near future.
Al Tayer also briefed the German Consul on the flagship projects currently undertaken by the RTA highlighted by Route 2020 for extending the Red Line of the Dubai Metro to the exhibition yard of Expo 2020. Future project portfolio discussed also included the extension of the Green Line of Dubai Metro project, Phase II of Dubai Tram project, in addition to an array of infrastructure projects such as roads network and transit means costing billions of dirhams. He remarked that future projects of RTA would offer great opportunities for businesses to bid for tenders released by RTA.
HE Günter Rauer, the German Consul in Dubai, was impressed by the sweeping development and superb infrastructure characterizing the UAE. He lauded the smart services offered by the RTA to the public, especially those related to mass transit services easing the mobility of people. More info
