SHARJAH // One of the busiest roads in Sharjah will be closed for almost three months from today as work to upgrade the emirate’s motorway network begin.
The Dh17.5 million project to extend Sheikh Mohammed Bin Saqr Al Qasimi Road, one of the main roads in the emirate, will take around 75 days, officials from the Sharjah Department of Public Works (DPW) announced.
The road links Abdullah bin Ali Al-Mahmoud and Mubarak bin Saif Nakhi squares in the Al Nasiriyah area.
“As part of the project we shall expand the road to have double lanes with side road parking and pedestrian paths on both sides,” said Engineer Suleiman Al-Hajri, the director of road projects at the DPW. More info
