Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced on Sunday it is to trial the use of electric buses powered only by rechargeable batteries.
The batteries will be able to be recharged up to 80 percent in less than 30 minutes and the bus can cover up to 200 km with a full battery at a speed of 100 km per hour, the official state news agency WAM reported.
The RTA will coordinate with the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) about future steps as regards providing the infrastructure for the electric vehicles. More info
