Dubai Parking will be free for motorists in paid parking zones in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah on Thursday on the occasion of Al Isra Wal Miraj, a holiday for the public and private sectors.

According to the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), the parking fees will be back in place on Saturday, July 2. However, parking will not be free in the Deira Fish Market paid parking zone during the holiday.

Adel Mohammad Al Marzouqi, Director of Parking at RTA’s Traffic and Roads Agency, said: “The step comes as part of RTA’s efforts to provide every means of comfort. It demonstrates RTA’s care for various cross-sections of the society and its sense of responsibility towards residents and visitors to the emirate.”

He also called upon motorists to ensure optimum utilisation of these parking spaces and avoid double-parking, blocking of traffic and parking areas and parking on pavements.
