RTA installs 89 video monitors on Metro stations

DUBAI: The Public Transport Agency at the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) recently completed the installation of 89 video monitors on the Red and Green Line stations of the Dubai Metro to display Real Time Passenger Information.

This is aimed at enabling the Metro riders check the bus movement, arrival and departure schedules, particularly the metro feeder service.

Adel Shakiri, director of Transportation Systems at the Public Transport Agency, said that the work teams of the agency had completed the installation of these smart monitors aimed at displaying bus timetables as well as actual arrival times at stations.

The displayed information would be updated within less than a minute of the expected bus arrival time at the station.

Information would be displayed in Arabic and English and the Operations Control Centre at the agency would attend to monitoring and tracking all buses to ensure their compliance with the information displayed for the metro riders. More info
