DUBAI: Up to 4kg of gold will be distributed to winners over the week along with complimentary NOL cards and other gift items as Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) rolls out a bonanza of prizes to public transport riders during the fifth renewal of the Public Transport Day held every Nov 1st.
“Events will be kicked off by a draw for prizes on Oct. 26 and will roll on till the date of the event,” said the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of RTA Public Transport Agency (PTA), Dr Yousef Al Ali.
He said the hefty prizes are one of the avenues meant to “encourage various community segments to shun the reliance on private vehicles and switch to using public transport modes in the Emirate.”
Dr Yousef said: “This edition of the Public Transport Day will be peculiar as it will be associated with an array of prizes to the worth of one million dirhams offered to public transport users or those taking part in contests and events which will roll on for a week at the stations of the metro, buses and marine transport or via the social media network, starting from Oct. 26 and culminating on the first of November.”
The CEO of PTA said the event this year requires all public transport users to configure their Gold and Silver cards by registering their numbers through RTA’s public transport app on smart phones or using their Personalised Blue Cards to qualify for winning various prizes offered during daily draws.
