One of the busiest roads in Sharjah will be closed for almost three months from today as work to upgrade the emirate's motorway network begin. The Dh17.5 million project to extend Sheikh Mohammed Bin Saqr Al Qasimi Road, one of the main roads in the emirate, will take around 75 days, officials from the Sharjah Department of Public Works (DPW) announced.
The Sharjah Transport, in a bid to ease people’s sufferings, has introduced changes to the timings of seven of its city and intercity bus routes during the holy month of Ramadan. Intercity Transport Manager Adel Khalil said the reschedule covers route Nos 111, 112, 113, 114, 115, 116, 14, and 308.
According to a senior official, Sharjah Transport commuted 15,376 passengers in the first three months of the year. “This is basically due to the steady and punctual bus schedules in all stops and stations,” said Yusuf Hammadi, Manager of Sharjah Transport Office in the Eastern and Central regions.
The Sharjah Transport on Wednesday completed transferring three of its intercity public bus routes run from Al Rolla Square to a spacious nearby area. Sharjah Intercity Transport Manager Adel Khalil said the new area was used a public bus stop facility earlier.
